F A Q

  • When and where is the wedding?
The wedding will be held on 27 September 2018 in Lagos, Portugal. We would like for you to be in Lagos from September 26 - 29, as we have other family activities planned for these days.
  • What's the deal with the hotel?
We would like all of our family to stay together at the same hotel in Lagos as this is probably one of the only opportunities we'll have for all of us to be together at the same time. We have booked a hotel room for three nights for all attendees with check-in on September 26 and check-out on September 29. The venue is Casa Mãe. More information can be found on their website: http://casa-mae.com/. You'll just need to check-in as your room is already covered.
  • What time should I arrive on September 26?
We will have a welcome BBQ and movie night on Wednesday evening, so we ask that you arrive sometime before 5:30 PM.
  • Are all the wedding activities required?
Absolutely not! We know many of you are traveling from afar and so we want you to have the best time for yourselves. We've planned a few activites (BBQ, wedding, boat trip) to have time for both families to meet and mingle. That said, this is your vacation and feel free to opt-in or opt-out of any of the activities. We just need to see you at the wedding ceremony!
  • What will the weather be like?
The weather this time of year in Lagos will be warm, but not too hot. Average temperatures for this date are 23° C / 75° F. It is not expected to rain.
  • What is "summer formal" attire?"
For our wedding ceremony and dinner, we'd love for you to wear something that is comfortable, but festive. Women: A formal summer sundress with sandals or a jumpsuit that’s light and dressy. You may want to avoid heels and opt for dressy sandals or flats. If you prefer to go with heels, wedges might be your best bet. Men: A light suit with a linen shirt, pants, sandals, or boat shoes. Ties and jackets are not a requirement.
  • Why are you showing the movie Congo during your movie night?
While not the greatest cinematic masterpiece, it was a movie that we both watched and enjoyed with our families on multiple occasions growing up. We thought it was fitting to show it during our family bonding night.
  • What is everyone else doing before and after the 26th - 29th?
We know it's a long way to fly, so most families are making a longer vacation out of the trip. Some will be roadtripping through Spain, exploring other parts of Portugal, or spending more time in Lagos. Feel free to make your own travel plans to get the most out of your journey.
  • Do you have a registry?
No, we have everything we need and we'll likely be moving countries this year. Your presence is our present =). Please just bring yourselves.
